Glen Bowen, MD, a dermato-oncologist, is co-director of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Multidisciplinary
Melanoma Clinic and director of Melanoma Patient Care Services. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of
Dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
In addition to staffing clinics for melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma patients, Bowen performs skin cancer surgery,
including Mohs micrographic surgery, the most precise method of skin cancer removal, which minimizes the chance of cancer
regrowth and lessens scarring. He also conducts clinical trials that test novel medical and surgical treatments for skin
cancer.
Bowen received his MD from the University of Utah in 1990 and completed his residency and fellowship training at the
University of Michigan. He was on the faculty at the University of Michigan for four years before joining Huntsman Cancer
Institute in 1999.
